AGEING AND DEMENTIA

Dementia is a syndrome where changes and/or damage occurring within the brain leads to a decline in memory and thinking processes.  It is not a normal part of ageing.  Dr Diana Karamacoska's work at NICM Health Research Institute is focused on dementia care and risk reduction.  She aspires to raise awareness about risk factors for dementia, and strategies to enhance quality of life and care for those living with the condition and their loved ones.  Scroll down to learn more about this research and head to the News & Blog section to access resources on dementia risk and prevention.
